Bodywork Classes
Over the course of the retreat, enjoy four days of three-hour, expert-led massage workshops and gain diverse hands-on experience in a supportive and nurturing environment. The sessions will have a maximum of six students and one or two instructors. Each class provides an opportunity to observe, practice, and receive, with one hour dedicated to each activity. Partners are assigned daily, ensuring everyone has the chance to work with a new partner.
Techniques Include:
- Lomi Lomi Massage: A Hawaiian practice emphasizing flowing, rhythmic movements to promote relaxation and healing.
- Phenomenal Touch: A creative, intuitive approach to massage focused on creating seamless movement and connection.
- Watsu Massage: Water-based therapy that combines gentle stretching and massage for ultimate relaxation.
- Natural Medicine: An exploration of local plants and remedies to support holistic wellness.
- Other Modalities: A variety of other techniques will be incorporated into classes.
Excursions
Discover the untamed beauty of Hawaii’s Big Island with immersive adventures that take you off the beaten path. Explore Kulaniapia Falls, where you’ll kayak and take in the majestic waterfall, and end the day with a gourmet dinner by the water. Relax at the Pohoiki Hot Springs, geothermally heated by volcanic activity, and journey along the legendary Red Road, a lush coastal route lined with dramatic cliffs, vibrant greenery, and ocean vistas.
Experience the unique charm of the clothing-optional Kehena Black Sand Beach, where the Sunday drum circle fills the air with rhythm and energy. Dance freely at the Ecstatic Dance at Kalani Retreat Center, swim in secret tide pools, meditate by the surf, or simply soak in the serenity of the island’s iconic landscapes. Each excursion is designed to bring you closer to Hawaii’s natural beauty and rich culture.
Daily Yoga
Start each day with energizing yoga sessions led by experienced instructors in stunning natural surroundings. Tailored to all experience levels, these morning practices focus on gentle stretches, mindful breathing, and movement, helping you prepare for the day’s adventures and workshops. Whether practicing on a serene lawn overlooking the ocean or beneath the shade of swaying palm trees, each session is designed to energize your body, center your mind, and connect you to the island’s natural beauty.
